Sessions are tailored to your individual needs and cover a wide range of topics, including skills analysis, CV writing, interview preparation, confidence-building and mentoring. Sometimes just one session is enough to get you on track; in other cases we put together a personalised set of goals to help you achieve your desired result.
Coaching clients mostly come via personal recommendations. These sessions are usually for an hour and face-to-face if possible. For clients who are unable to meet up, we offer phone consultations, both in the UK and abroad, as well as Skype or Facetime options.
Group workshops and training courses
We offer customised training and workshops on a one-off basis or as part of a regular programme. The course content is always tailored to meet the needs of specific groups.
We have a broad experience of working with different types of students and course participants and can build rapport with people of all ages and educational levels.
In-house workshops for companies, colleges and academic institutions include topics such as networking, work-life balance, maternity leave management and general-confidence building, as well as the core subjects of skills analysis, CV writing and interview preparation. We have considerable experience in helping people through challenging times in their lives, with particular emphasis on dealing with the emotional elements linked to losing one’s job through redundancy and the job-seeking process in general.
We also run in-house workshops which are tailored to the needs of the organisation. These can include several modules, such as skills assessment, CV writing and interview techniques and are often followed up with one to one sessions, which build on the group workshop. This is a very well-tried formula and results in many people successfully finding new jobs afterwards.
Delivering one-off talks to organisations is also a part of what we do. Whether on work-life balance or confidence-building, we aim to offer something meaningful even in a short time, whether a lunch time meeting or an evening networking session.
Career guidance for school leavers and recent graduates
Everyone knows that starting out in the world of work can be very daunting. Changing Direction works with school leavers and recent graduates on developing employability skills and getting young people job-ready, regardless of academic qualifications. We offer career guidance whether individually or in a group or classroom setting, to help those looking for a first job or a step up onto the career ladder.
In addition, we have experience helping with UCAS applications and preparation for university entrance, including interview practice.
